Fellow Legionnaires, Last month as many of you know, we had a booth at the street fair. I want to thank all of you who volunteered to help staff the booth. We had a quite a number of visitors and gave out applications for the entire family of organizations that make up the Legion. We even had folks stop by who knew a veteran in need and asked if we could help. The booth served as a conduit to the community, not just the veterans, and it was fun to talk to all our veterans and neighbors who stopped by. But the truth is the booth was understaffed. And I hate to say it, but some folks who signed up didn’t show up. I had to commandeer the high school brother of Elias Velazquez to help me break down the canopy and thanks to Tony Maffini’s truck, we were able to get the equipment back to the post.

So, I am asking that in the Fall, you commit to volunteering and help put our best foot forward.
